This hub provides clear guidance, education, and tools to support your compliance efforts.

OSHA’s General Duty Clause

Under Section 5(a)(1), employers must provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that could cause serious harm.
Ergonomic hazards—repetition, force, posture, lifting, contact stress—fall under this requirement.

How ActionOnsite Helps You Meet This Standard

  • Identifying ergonomic hazards through REBA/RULA assessments

  • Providing corrective recommendations and safe-movement coaching

  • Delivering actionable controls to reduce MSD risk

  • Documenting findings to support corrective action

  • Training employees to recognize and report discomfort early

  • Supporting continuous improvement and hazard mitigation

Outcome: Your team stays protected, compliant, and equipped to address MSD risks before they lead to injury.

OSHA First Aid Enforcement Policy

What Counts as First Aid vs. Medical Treatment

OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1904.7(b)(5) outlines what is considered First Aid — and therefore not recordable.

Approved First Aid includes:

  • Soft-tissue massage and trigger point techniques

  • Cold or heat therapy applied within OSHA timing parameters

  • Non-rigid supports, wraps, or elastic bandages

  • Temporary immobilization used strictly for First Aid (e.g., splints, slings)

  • Company Specific Stretching, guided mobility, and proper movement coaching

  • Activity modification or posture/positioning adjustments

  • Use of handheld or powered massage tools (e.g., Theragun)

  • Early discomfort assessments without diagnosis

  • Symptom monitoring and follow-up checks to ensure improvement

  • Education on self-care, hydration, pacing, recovery, and body mechanics

How ActionOnsite Stays Fully OSHA-Aligned

Our clinicians follow OSHA First Aid guidance for all early intervention services:

  • No diagnoses

  • No prescription recommendations

  • No medical treatment

  • No invasive procedures

  • Only OSHA-approved first aid techniques

  • Clear escalation when medical assessment is needed

Outcome: Your company receives safe, compliant early intervention that protects employees and prevents unnecessary recordables.
